Description
Use your pass to board the Ellis Island ferry and get up close to the iconic green copper Statue of Liberty, the first glimpse of America for millions of immigrants and a must-see on any New York City visit. Walk around the Statue of Liberty National Monument at ground level and snap stunning photos, then explore the immersive Statue of Liberty Museum, where you’ll discover the statue’s history and construction, view her original torch, and engage with interactive exhibits like a copper model of her face and a reimagined artist’s studio. Afterward, continue to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, admission included, where you can delve into powerful stories of arrival, resilience, and freedom, and even trace your own ancestry. A self-guided audio tour of both Liberty and Ellis Islands lets you explore at your own pace while taking in sweeping views of Manhattan.
To Know
To begin your visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, show your reservation date and time in the app before presenting your valid pass at the "Reserve Ticket" entrance at The Battery. After check-in, proceed through the security screening before boarding the ferry. Please note that access to the pedestal and crown is not included with your pass. As this is a very popular attraction, it’s highly recommended to reserve your spot as early as possible up to 7 days in advance and for a smoother experience, aim to visit about two hours after opening. Children under four enter free. Both Liberty and Ellis Islands are ADA compliant, and a limited number of wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a valid ID as a deposit; guide dogs are welcome. You're welcome to bring sealed food and drinks to the islands, though they aren’t allowed inside the pedestal or crown. Dining is also available on both islands, provided by Evelyn Hill Inc.
