About the W Train
The W train runs local on the BMT Broadway Line between Astoria and Lower Manhattan. It provides local service in Manhattan, complementing the N train's express service.
The W service was discontinued in 2010 due to budget cuts but was restored in 2016 to provide additional service on the Broadway Line.
