About the G Train
The G train is unique as the only subway line that doesn't enter Manhattan. It connects Brooklyn and Queens along the IND Crosstown Line, serving as a vital connector between the two boroughs.
The Crosstown Line opened in 1933 and was designed to provide a Brooklyn-Queens connection without traveling through Manhattan. It has seen service expansions and contractions over the decades.
